The first phase of construction will close the road to through traffic between CSAH 28 and the North County Line for much of this summer.
(May 31, 2023) Pope County will be starting reconstruction work on County State Aid Highway (CSAH) No. 15 between CSAH No. 28 and the North County Line on June 5, 2023.
The project will be completed in two phases, the first in summer 2023 and the second in 2024.
The first phase of the project includes: removal of the existing pavement, culvert replacements, reconstruction of the roadbed, and initial bituminous pavement surfacing. This first phase is expected to be completed and open to traffic before the end of August 2023.
The road will be closed to thru traffic during construction and a detour will be in place, guiding traffic to State Highway 29 along County Road 88 on the north end and County State Aid Highway 28 on the south end of the project limits. A map of the detour is included below.
The second phase includes final paving and shouldering work to be completed in 2024.
