Who We Are:
The Pope County Veterans Service Officer is a highly trained professional advocate for Veterans and their families. CVSO's are constantly training and learning to stay current with all areas of their job. The CVSO is the primary point of contact for Pope County veterans and their families who seek assistance with local, state and federal veterans benefits.
What We Do :
We collaborate with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs and Veterans Service Organizations in securing benefits for veterans.
Disseminate information on veterans benefits
Assist in the application for State and Federal benefits
Facilitate the referral process to appropriate outside agencies
Help obtain relevant military records
Mission:
The Pope County Veterans Service Office works collaboratively with the Department of Veterans Affairs and nationally chartered veterans service organizations in promoting the interests and welfare of veterans who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America, their family members and survivors. To enhance the quality of their lives through advising, counseling, claims assistance, education, advocacy and special programs. To ensure that they each receive all of the benefits and services they so well deserve for the hardships they have endured.

Pope County provides transportation to and from the Veterans Administration Hospitals at Minneapolis and St. Cloud on even calendar days. The vehicle is not a handicap accessible vehicle. Please call for more details.
