Seconds really do matter when emergencies happen.

You can help yourself, your family, your pet, and your work family by having a ‘Go Kit’ that is ready to deploy when disaster strikes. A back pack or tote work great to hold all the necessary items you may need. The best practice is to consider 72 hours when deciding what and how much you need.

Important documents may include medical records, hard drives with account numbers and proprietary information, or your pet’s immunization record. Think about all the people or places you may need to call – those phone numbers may be critical to you. Don’t forget your insurance agent contact!

Just as important as documents, there may be simple tools that can help you with utilities, your vehicle, or your office door if the power goes out.

In addition, don’t forget necessary medications, water, and non-perishable food, everyone still gets hungry in an emergency! Planning now saves seconds later.
