Name that Plow Contest Official Rules
Contest Period
- Entries accepted: July 30th-September 28th, 2026 — Submit entries here
- Public voting period: The month of October 2026
- Winning plow name announced: The first week of November 2026
Eligibility
- Contest is open to anyone who lives, works, or goes to school in Pope County.
Submission Guidelines
Submitted names must:
- Be original and creative
- Be appropriate for all ages
- Avoid offensive, political, discriminatory, or inappropriate language
- Not infringe on trademarks or copyrights
- Be suitable for use on county equipment
The County reserves the right to reject or remove submissions that do not meet these guidelines.
How to Enter
Participants may submit entries online via the County website using the voting form.
Selection Process
- A County committee will review all submissions
- Finalists will be selected based on creativity, originality, and appropriateness
- The top snowplow names will be posted on Pope County’s website for public voting
- The name receiving the most eligible votes may be selected as the winner
The County reserves the right to make the final decision regardless of vote totals.
Voting Rules
- Automated or fraudulent voting is prohibited
- Votes submitted after the deadline will not be counted
Winner Announcement
The winning plow name will be displayed on a Pope County snowplow.
Rights & Permissions
By entering the contest, participants grant Pope County permission to:
- Use submitted names for promotional purposes
- Modify submitted names slightly for formatting or practical use if necessary
All entries become property of Pope County upon submission.
