MARRIAGE OFFICIANT
Civil marriages may be solemnized throughout the state by an individual who has attained the age of 21 years and who registers as a civil marriage officiant with a local registrar in a county of this state. The county where the civil marriage officiant is registered must be endorsed upon and recorded with each certificate of marriage. (M.S. 517.04)
Filing Requirements
- Complete Certificate of Marriage Officiant Filing
- Filing fee: $40.00 – Payable to the Pope County Recorder
- Officiant must be 21 years of age
Registering In Person
Will need to provide a valid government issue photo ID
Sign Certificate of Marriage Officiant Filing when present at the Recorder’s Office
Registering by Mail
Complete a Certificate of Marriage Officiant Filing –Â Signature will need to be notarized
Filing Fee – Check is made payable to the Pope County Recorder
