Two new members of the Pope County Board of Commissioners, Paul Gremmels and Paul Wildman, joined the Board on January 3rd, representing Districts 1 and 5, respectively.
(January 4, 2022) The Pope County Board of Commissioners began their work for 2023 Tuesday morning, January 3, after oaths of office were administered to all County elected officials starting a new term of office with the new year.
Commissioner Paul Gremmels is the newly-elected representative for District 1,consisting of the City of Starbuck and the Townships of Minnewaska and White Bear Lake.

Commissioner Paul Wildman is the newly-elected representative for District 5, consisting of the Townships of Leven, Reno, and Westport, the Cities of Long Beach, Villard, and Westport, and the northwest quadrant of the City of Glenwood.

County Commissioner for District 4 Larry Lindor, County Attorney Neil Nelson, County Auditor-Treasurer Stephanie Rust, County Recorder Sarah Green, and County Sheriff Tim Riley also were elected to new four-year terms in November as incumbents, and begin their new terms with the new year as well.

District Court Judge Melissa Listug administered the oath of office to the officials before the County Board’s organizational meeting.
Gordy Wagner, County Commissioner for District 2, was elected Chair of the County Board for 2023, and Paul Gerde, County Commissioner for District 3, was elected Vice-Chair for 2023.
