Got a “cool” name? Pope County wants to hear it!

Pope County is looking for a “flurry” of ideas from area residents in helping us name one of the County’s hardworking snowplows!

Beginning July 30, community members of all ages are encouraged to submit their most creative, clever, and “snow-tacular” name ideas. Whether it’s packed with winter puns, Minnesota charm, or simply makes people smile, Pope County is looking for a name that will help make this winter a little more fun.

Residents can submit entries by:

Also watch for the “Name a Snowplow” signs at the Courthouse and community events, which features the scannable QR code to enter your name ideas.

The contest will remain open through September 28.

Our snowplow operators are local heroes every winter, and this is a fun opportunity for the community to show off their creativity while recognizing the crews who work hard keeping our roads safe.

After submissions close, all entries will be evaluated and finalists will be selected. Finalists will be posted on the Pope County website where residents can vote for their favorite name during the month of October. The winning name will then be officially displayed on one of Pope County’s snowplows!

So beat the summer heat and sled, ski, or skate on over to the Pope County website at https://www.popecountymn.gov/name-that-plow-contest/ or scan the included QR code to give it your best shot.

After all, every great snowplow deserves a name that’s simply “plow-some”!
