POSSE

The members of the Pope County Sheriff’s Posse voluntarily join themselves together for the purpose(s) of:

• Assisting the Pope County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies in the county and communities in maintaining peace, order, and law;
• Responding to any call for assistance in case of emergency, disaster, or riot;
• Promoting respect and compliance with law in the community, or county;
• Promoting good fellowship and public spirit among its members; and
• Other duties as prescribed by the Sheriff’s Office, the Board, and/or the membership.
