Real Estate
The Pope County Recorder’s office is the legal custodian for all land records affecting real estate property for the county, in compliance with Minnesota statutes. The Recorder/Registrar of Titles is responsible for the review, recording and archival preservation of hundreds of types of legal documents to protect the rights and interests of individuals and institutions. Examples of common documents include Deeds, Contracts, Mortgages, Satisfactions and many other documents that pertain to real estate property.Â
Pope County does not offer legal advice or assistance in preparing documents. Questions should be directed to a legal representative or a practicing abstractor to assist in land transfers.
Property in Pope County is classified as two types of title, Abstract or Torrens. Land records date from 1870’s to the present.

RecordEASE (occasional user)
You can create an Occasional User account and pay by credit card. Payment is processed via a secure site. RecordEASE and Pope County don’t access or maintain credit card information.
To start an account, go to the RecordEASE website and click on New Credit Card Customer.
RecordEASE (monthly subscription)
RecordEASE is the county’s commercial product for accessing land records maintained by the Pope County Recorder’s Office. This online resource consists of legal documents primarily related to real estate, such as mortgages, deeds, easements, liens, and plats.
Our records are retrievable with a subscription to RecordEASE. All property records are imaged, however; indexed records are only completed back to circa 1977 for Deeds and 1981 for all other document types.

Using RecordEASE
RecordEASE is designed for use as a search tool for information on individual property parcels. Multiple parcel data downloads, screen scraping programs or other computer extraction techniques are strictly prohibited. Pope County reserves the right to deny access to the site by any individual or party determined to be misusing this site.
