(August 22, 2023) The Pope County Opioid Settlement Advisory Council met on August 22, focusing on planning and preparation for its annual community meeting set for October 24th.
The “Pope County Consultation and Partnership Opioid Meeting” is set to take place on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 12:00 noon in the County Board Room on the Third Floor of the Pope County Courthouse at 130 Minnesota Ave. East in Glenwood. This annual meeting is part of the terms and conditions of the opioid settlement agreements through which Pope County is receiving its community funding. This public meeting is meant for other local government agencies and community stakeholders to receive information and offer feedback on opioid settlement and Advisory Council activities.
The group also engaged a final review of the Advisory Council’s bylaws and funding application, formally approved at its last meeting.
The Advisory Council will not meet in September, but will hold its next meeting in conjunction with the aforementioned “Pope County Consultation and Partnership Opioid Meeting” with community members on October 24th.
Horizon Public Health, as the facilitator and organizer of Pope County’s community response, will be providing information on the Task Force’s activities in Pope County, as well as efforts in the other four counties in the Horizon service area — Douglas, Grant, Stevens, and Traverse Counties.
